At a time when his own future is up in the air, Newcastle United defender Kieran Trippier has been helping other players navigate the summer transfer window.
The 33-year-old is yet to return to Newcastle United training after representing England at Euro 2024, and there has been a lot of speculation about his future St James’ Park.
Kieran Trippier is in the final year of his contract, and it feels like a move away could be on the horizon.
It has been reported that Trippier probably will be sold by Newcastle, although Eddie Howe would like to keep Trippier. That is understandable, given how influential the defender is – both on and off the pitch.
But with one year left to run on his current deal, combined with his age, it feels like a natural time for Newcastle United and Kieran Trippier to part ways.
Conor Gallagher leaving Chelsea
That is a similar situation to the one Conor Gallagher has found himself in at Chelsea. His contract at Stamford Bridge expires in 2025, meaning the homegrown player either needs to sign a new deal or move clubs before the summer transfer window closes.

It has been a rather messy situation, but it looks like it will end with Gallagher leaving Chelsea and taking his talents to Spain.
According to the Telegraph, Gallagher has agreed to sign for Atletico Madrid in a deal worth £33.7million.
The midfielder is taking his talents to the Spanish capital, which is somewhere that Trippier knows all about.
Kieran Trippier’s role in Gallagher transfer
In fact, the Telegraph add that Trippier has helped convince Gallagher to join Atletico Madrid, having represented Diego Simeone’s side himself.
The right-back spent two-and-a-half years with the La Liga giants, winning the title during his time in Spain.
Now Gallagher will hope to do the same, having taken the advice of Trippier and agreed to play for Simeone.
Newcastle have wanted Gallagher for a long time
Given his time in Madrid, Trippier is well placed to advise Gallagher about life in Spain and playing for Simeone.
His words clearly had an impact, as the 24-year-old is set to sign for Atletico Madrid.
It means that the rumours of Gallagher leaving Chelsea to sign for Newcastle will finally come to an end. He has been heavily linked with the Magpies for years, with Newcastle’s interest starting when Steve Bruce was manager.
But the rumours continued under Eddie Howe, with Gallagher constantly mentioned as a midfield target for Newcastle United.
However, Geordie Boot Boys were told earlier this year that Gallagher had never shown a willingness to move to Newcastle.
But he does have a willingness to join Atletico Madrid, thanks to some words of encouragement from Kieran Trippier.
