Benjamin Sesko is one of the names Newcastle United are considering to replace Alexander Isak this summer.
Isak has asked to leave Newcastle United and is of interest to Liverpool, who are reportedly set to make a formal bid for the Sweden international.
Even before the Isak debacle unfolded, Newcastle were chasing a new forward after Callum Wilson’s departure from the club.
Newcastle are considering a move for Sesko, who has been linked with the club for years. The RB Leipzig forward first made his name at Red Bull Salzburg and was tipped as a Toon target before he moved to the German side in the summer of 2023.
Sesko has scored 39 goals in 87 games since arriving in Germany and could be the man to replace Isak on Tyneside.
Jurgen Klopp is the Head of Global Soccer for the Red Bull group in charge of both Leipzig and Salzburg, and has given a ringing endorsement of the forward.

What Jurgen Klopp said about Benjamin Sesko
Speaking to reporters back in January, former Liverpool manager Klopp was effusive in his praise of the Slovenia international.
“I’ve actually known him for a while, I knew him already when he was at Salzburg,” he said (via The Metro).
“I think we played a friendly game here when he was very, very young. I was really impressed, I thought, ‘Where do they get all these players? Ridiculous.’”
Manchester United still considering Benjamin Sesko move
Manchester United have beaten Newcastle to the signings of both Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo this summer.
Despite having their worst season in living memory last time out, the Red Devils continue to strengthen with players Newcastle wanted to sign.
That is surely down to wages more than anything else, but the idea they could get involved in the race to sign Sesko is a worry as a result.
Man United are considering a move for Sesko, which would be yet another bitter blow for Eddie Howe.
This has been an awful summer for the Newcastle United manager and Sesko potentially going to Old Trafford instead of St James’ Park would be adding insult to injury.
