How Nottingham Forest have actually reacted to Anthony Elanga’s social media posts after Newcastle United bid

Anthony Elanga is a leading Newcastle United target during this summer’s transfer window.

Newcastle United have had an offer rejected for Elanga, who was also a target for the club last summer.

Eddie Howe has tried to sign Elanga multiple times, though at Forest he remains.

Geordie Boot Boys have been told that Forest value Elanga at more than £60million, and it remains to be seen if Newcastle get anywhere near that valuation.

The Sweden international has been active on social media throughout. Elanga has sent social media messages to Newcastle star William Osula during the saga, and a video of the two dancing together was recently posted on Tik Tok.

Forest, however, appear to be unconcerned.

Nottingham Forest not concerned about Anthony Elanga’s social media posts

On Wednesday, The Chronicle ran a live Q&A session with journalist Lee Ryder.

During the discussion, Ryder revealed that those at the City Ground have dismissed suggestions that the fact Elanga posted an image of a Newcastle shirt on Instagram was any kind of hint over his future.

As for the post with Osula, Forest reportedly see that as purely two friends having fun on holiday.

Nottingham Forest’s stance on selling Anthony Elanga

With the PSR assessment deadline having been and passed, it would appear as if Forest are under no huge obligation to sell unless they get what they’re asking for.

Elanga still has three years to run on his contract too, so Forest are in a very strong position.

Still, Forest are expected to sell a first-team player this summer. Clearly, that doesn’t necessarily have to be the Sweden international, but it seems there will indeed be outgoing movement at the club.

Newcastle have wanted Elanga for a while now. Hopefully soon, their almost year-long pursuit of the forward comes to a positive conclusion.
