Transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano believes that Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher could be on the move in the summer which could be good news for Newcastle United.

That age-old Newcastle-Chelsea rivalry
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano talked about the future of Chelsea’s young starlet, Conor Gallagher with the midfielder facing an uncertain future witch Chelsea’s love of buying expensive midfielders.
Newcastle were heavily linked with a move for Gallagher in January but it was felt that Chelsea would be reluctant to deal with the Magpies as they see them as a direct rival in the Premier League. Which is flattering on one hand, given Chelsea’s recent Premier League exploits, but on the other hand, Newcastle are five places ahead of Chelsea in the league, so right now, they’re hardly our rivals and more rivals for Aston Villa.
With Chelsea’s midfield looking extremely crowded lately, Romano believes that Chelsea will listen to offers for Gallagher in the summer: “Chelsea could be open to let Gallagher leave in case they will receive a very big proposal in the summer. So let’s see what kind of bids will arrive but Gallagher is another player to watch in case the player would be keen on leaving.”

Romano isn’t alone in thinking Gallagher could be on the move
That last sentence is the one that’s key, however, as Gallagher has already shown his reluctance to leave the club that he has served since the age of eight, with Romano claiming that Gallagher was subject to a last-minute £40m bid from Everton in January, but the boyhood Chelsea fan opted to stay and fight for his place under Graeme Potter.
CBS journalist, Ben Jacobs also recently made similar claims about Gallagher and there’s no smoke without fire, as they say, so while it does look like Chelsea will be open to letting Gallagher leave, the question now is whether Newcastle still retain their interest and if Chelsea will still be loathed to do business with us – a position that makes no sense when you consider that they sold Jorginho to Arsenal.
If he is made available, Newcastle would be mad to pass up the opportunity to sign him up. He’s a ‘fantastic’ talent and still has his best years ahead of him. He’s the exact type of player Newcastle should be looking to bring in.
