Newcastle United want to sign Marc Guehi, but he is not the only centre-back on the Magpies’ radar.
Geordie Boot Boys understand that Newcastle are interested in Guehi again, with the 24-year-old likely to leave Crystal Palace this summer.
It has been reported that Guehi is Newcastle’s top transfer target, with Eddie Howe desperate to add a right-sided centre-back to his squad for next season.
However, the England international is one of multiple defenders that the Magpies are looking at ahead of the summer transfer window.
Newcastle United eye Brentford star
Newcastle United are eyeing another Premier League defender, with Nathan Collins attracting a lot of attention.

That is according to TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey, who has spoken to Geordie Boot Boys about the Brentford player.
“He is one of the centre-backs that Newcastle are interested in, alongside Marc Guehi,” he said.
“There are more than two of them, as we know.”
Newcastle have been linked with Wilfred Singo too, while Dean Huijsen has been a target. However, the Magpies look set to miss out on the Bournemouth youngster.
Nathan Collins would be ‘outstanding’ for Newcastle United
While Guehi currently appears to be the leading candidate to arrive at St James’ Park, Bailey is of the belief that Collins would be an excellent alternative.
“He is a very good player,” he said.
“Terrific Premier League defender who I think would be an outstanding fit for Newcastle United.
“He’s got a lot of admirers, and has gotten better and better every year. Arsenal are looking at him too. He’s starting to attract a bit more attention. I think he will get a big move sooner rather than later.”
Whether Brentford need to sell this summer
Collins is not the only Brentford player that the Magpies are interested in.
Newcastle want Bryan Mbeumo too, with the 25-year-old seen as an ideal addition to Eddie Howe’s forward line.
It has been reported that Brentford will listen to offers for Mbeumo, valuing the Cameroon international in excess of £60million.
But while the Bees could be willing sellers when it comes to Mbeumo, it remains to be seen if that stance goes for Collins too.
It has been reported by the i Paper that Brentford are not under pressure to sell anyone this summer.
While there is an acceptance at the Gtech Community Stadium that Mbeumo has earned a move to a bigger club, there could be a firmer desire to retain Collins.
The 24-year-old joined Brentford from Wolves for £23million in 2023, signing a six-year deal.
