Newcastle United kicked off their pre-season trip to Japan with a convincing victory on Wednesday over Urawa Red Diamonds.
Eddie Howe‘s side ran out 4-1 victors in Saitama with the goals coming from Alexander Isak, Jacob Murphy and Lewis Hall.
It was the Magpies second run out of the summer following their victory over Hull City on Saturday before they departed for Japan.
Newcastle have not exactly been overly busy in the summer market so far, but on the pitch, Newcastle have looked really impressive.
But Howe has issues yet another transfer statement following the victory over the Japanese outfit on Wednesday.

What Eddie Howe said about transfers after victory over Urawa Reds
Wednesday’s outing against the Japanese outfit provided a comfortable afternoon for the Magpies despite the humidity.
But there still remain issues away from the pitch as Paul Mitchell still finds himself working hard to secure the major first signing since his appointment.
Since seeing Dan Ashworth depart for Manchester United, the Red Devils have brought in some significant signings.
Yet Howe still finds himself awaiting some additions to strengthen his squad.
Speaking to the media after the victory in Japan, Howe issued a very simple, three-word message on potential summer signings.
When asked whether there are any signings now close to completion, Howe replied: “I hope so.”
It is quite a telling response of whether Howe feels Newcastle are at heading into the new campaign in just a matter of weeks now.
Eddie Howe has already issued PIF a transfer warning
This is not the first time which Howe has issued the Newcastle board with a transfer warning this summer.
Howe had to endure a difficult 2023/24 campaign where he saw his squad depleted through injuries which tested the depth of his options.
Clearly, Newcastle game into the summer needing a number of players to be added to the squad, yet Howe is still waiting for the first big buy of the window.
And Howe has warned the Newcastle board that he needs to feel backed amid links to the vacant England role.
“As long as I’m happy in the position that I’m in. As long as I feel supported by the football club and free to work in the way that I want to work, yes. That is the crucial thing,” Howe told the media recently.
