Eddie Howe has provided an update on Will Osula possibly leaving Newcastle United during the January transfer window.
The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from St James’ Park, having almost departed Newcastle United during the summer transfer window.
It has been reported that Will Osula has an agreement to join Eintracht Frankfurt in January, with the Bundesliga club attempting to strike a deal with the Magpies.
Letting Will Osula leave would be a risk given Newcastle United’s striker problems this season, and Eddie Howe has now admitted that he does not expect the Danish youngster to go anywhere this month.

Eddie Howe expects Will Osula to stay at Newcastle United
Ahead of Newcastle United’s game against Crystal Palace on Sunday, Howe has spoken to the media.
He was asked about Osula’s Newcastle United future, at a time when the forward is out of action with an ankle injury.
That has been cause for frustration for Osula, who Howe expects to retain.
“There’s no expectation from me that Will will leave,” he said, as reported by the Chronicle.
“The only way we would consider that would be for his development and growth but always with a view to come back to us.

“He is injured at the moment so our priority is to get him back fit. We are hopeful he will be back towards the end of the month. He has been frustrated because he was in a good place prior to his injury.
“As always there will be a decision taken on each player when the time comes.”
Will Osula is in an impossible position at Newcastle United
Understandably, Osula wants to play more. That is why a move away is appealing, as he is not going to get into the Newcastle United team ahead of Nick Woltemade or Yoane Wissa.
However, the Magpies would be taking a huge risk in letting him go given their striker issues this season. Wissa has only just returned to full fitness, while Woltemade is still adapting to the Premier League.

You can sign ONE defender in January, who are you taking? ✍️
Ultimately, Newcastle cannot afford to let Osula go in January unless a replacement arrives. That feels unlikely, with Howe’s priorities lying elsewhere.
Defensive reinforcements are essential, with Newcastle interested in Dayann Methalie. A new midfielder is also of interest, with the pursuit of another forward likely to be put on hold until the summer.
That is also when Osula’s future will probably be decided.
