Newcastle United are keen on bringing Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo to Tyneside this summer.

The Magpies have a lot of interest in the 25-year-old who has been one of the Premier League’s best players this season, scoring 18 goals and bagging six assists.

Newcastle United have been embarrassed by Bryan Mbeumo this season on multiple occasions. The Cameroon international scored and bagged an assist during a 4-2 win at the Brentford Community Stadium in December 2024 and scored a penalty at St James’ Park in a recent meeting in April.

After reports suggested that Newcastle were reluctant to pay Mbeumo’s £60m price tag, fans took to social media to urge the PIF to spend the money to bring him to the club.

Newcastle fans believe Mbeumo is worth £60m, with some even claiming that a fee for a player like him is still far too cheap.

Other clubs in the Premier League are interested in Mbeumo, but it is believed that Newcastle are ahead of Nottingham Forest and Liverpool, who are keen on bolstering their squads this summer.

With Mbeumo to Newcastle set to be a big story this summer, the winger has made a huge comment about the Magpies which will surely send the fanbase into raptures.

During Newcastle’s 2-1 win against Brentford in April, Mbeumo was caught up in a rather unfortunate moment that saw him slip just before Alexander Isak’s goal, which guided the ball into the back of the net.

Newcastle fans laughed at Mbeumo for the error, joking that it was his first goal contribution for the Magpies ahead of a potential summer move.

Mitchell is tasked with signing a winger this summer, and Mbeumo could be the ideal player to join, even with his hefty price tag. Now, Mbeumo himself has shared that St James’ Park is one of his favourite stadiums to play in, fueling talk of a potential move even more.

“Oh, I really like Everton and Newcastle as well,” Mbeumo said when asked what his favourite stadium to play at is in a conversation with Pro Direct.

The 25-year-old was also asked about which stadium is the toughest to play at, to which he responded, “Probably one of those.”

What Bryan Mbeumo has previously said about Newcastle United and St James’ Park

There is no doubt that Mbeumo would immediately add so much more quality to Newcastle’s attack if he joined this summer. Fans would love to see a front three comprised of Mbeumo, Isak and one of Harvey Barnes or Anthony Gordon.

Mbeumo has been on the receiving end of St James’ Park’s famous atmosphere, but the winger could be cheered on by the passionate Geordies if he decides to make the move to Tyneside this summer.

After the loss in April, Mbeumo admitted St James’ Park is a tough ground to play at. Admitting it is always ‘really tight’ whenever he visits.

Mbeumo has not won any of his four visits to St James’ Park in his career, including a recent Carabao Cup quarter-final in December.
