Newcastle United have already cut Isaac Hayden’s loan move short, and now another player is back on Tyneside.
Eddie Howe needs new signings during the January transfer window, but the main focus appears to be on outgoings at this moment in time.
It has been reported that Javi Manquillo is in talks to leave the club, with Celta Vigo looking to sign the Spanish defender. Interestingly, they are managed by former Toon boss Rafa Benitez.
Isaac Hayden’s future also needs to be sorted out, with Newcastle looking to agree another loan exit after his time at Standard Liege was cut short. A move to the Championship appears to be on the cards, but the Magpies are keen for any loan deal to include a commitment to buy in the summer.
And now another out of favour Newcastle player could be heading out the door.

Newcastle looking to find a new club for Jeff Hendrick
According to the Chronicle, Newcastle are currently trying to find a new club for Jeff Hendrick.
They report that his loan spell at Championship side Sheffield Wednesday is going to be cut short, following reports that the Owls were looking to send the 31-year-old back to Tyneside.
It looks like they are going to get their wish, with Hendrick seemingly set to head elsewhere – if Newcastle can find a suitor.
This comes at a time when Howe desperately needs another midfielder, with Sandro Tonali suspended and Joelinton, Joe Willock and Elliot Anderson out injured.
Despite Howe’s limited options in the middle of the park, there is absolutely no chance that Hendrick will get another chance. He only ever made one appearance for Newcastle after Howe’s appointment, and has been out on loan to three different clubs.
That looks set to become four, but no matter what happens, a permanent exit from Newcastle United is on the cards for this summer with his contract due to expire.
Hendrick joined the club on a free from Burnley in 2020, and famously scored the final goal of the Mike Ashley era.
