Arsenal are not going to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United this summer.
They would like to, but a deal is not going to happen. Newcastle United are not selling their top stars, and that includes Alexander Isak.
Instead, Newcastle want to extend Isak’s contract.
Meanwhile, Arsenal need to find a new forward. While Arsenal fans dream of signing Isak, the Gunners are drawing up alternative plans.

Arsenal interested in Hugo Ekitike
Those plans could lead them towards a player who Newcastle United know all about.
According to Foot Mercato in France, Arsenal are one of three Premier League clubs interested in signing Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt.
The other two clubs that are reportedly keen are Liverpool and West Ham United.
Ekitike would be a cheaper alternative to Isak, as there is no way that the Paris Saint-Germain flop is going to cost in excess of £100million.
Hugo Ekitike hitting his potential after Newcastle United missed out
The name ‘Hugo Ekitike’ is very familiar to Newcastle United fans. After all, he is the French forward who turned down the Magpies twice in 2022.
Eddie Howe tried to sign Ekitike during his first transfer window in charge, only for the attacker to turn down Newcastle’s advances.
But Newcastle would not be put off. They tried again that summer, agreeing a fee with Stade Reims to sign Ekitike.
However, it was PSG who secured his signature. Newcastle United missed out, while Ekitike embarked on a difficult period with the Ligue 1 giants.
Ekitike’s struggles were amusing to Toon fans after he rejected a St James’ Park transfer, but now the 22-year-old is proving exactly why Howe wanted him in the first place.
Now in Germany with Eintracht Frankfurt, Ekitike currently has 17 goals and six assists in 32 games. He is finally showcasing his potential, with Newcastle United’s interest in Ekitike more than justified.
But it is Arsenal who could benefit, as they prepare to challenge Liverpool and West Ham for a signature that Newcastle United narrowly missed out on twice.
