Martin Dubravka has officially left Newcastle United, as Eddie Howe continues his goalkeeping reshuffle.
It was reported on Wednesday that Dubravka was set to join Burnley, with the 36-year-old undergoing a medical with Scott Parker’s side.
That move has now been finalised, with the Slovakia international calling time on his Newcastle United career. Dubravka spent seven-and-a-half years at St James’ Park, having been brought to the club initially on loan by Rafa Benitez in January 2018.
Dubravka has been an excellent goalkeeper for the Magpies, but it is the right time for him to leave after Aaron Ramsdale’s arrival.

Odysseas Vlachodimos set to leave Newcastle United too
Following Dubravka’s Newcastle United departure, another member of Eddie Howe’s squad is closing in on a move away.
Throughout the summer, the expectation has been that Odysseas Vlachodimos will leave on loan.
That is now set to happen, with Mark Douglas stating on X that the Greece international is on the brink of moving to La Liga side Sevilla.
It was recently reported that Vlachodimos only wants to stay in Europe despite interest from Saudi Arabia, and the 31-year-old is set to get his wish.
It is a good move for both parties. Vlachodimos is not going to play for the Magpies, while Newcastle cannot sell him as he would go down as a loss in terms of PSR. That is because he cost £20million last summer, and there is no way any other club would pay that figure.
What Odysseas Vlachodimos expected when he joined Newcastle United
It was a surprise when Newcastle signed Vlachodimos. It was only done for PSR reasons, with Elliot Anderson moving the other way to Nottingham Forest.
However, the expectation was that Vlachodimos would compete with Nick Pope for a place in the starting XI.
That did not happen, with the former Olympiacos stopper barely seen for the majority of the 2024/25 season. He was third choice behind Pope and Dubravka, with Vlachodimos’ one and only Toon appearance coming in a Carabao Cup third round tie. And that only came about because Dubravka picked up an injury!
It has been a difficult 12 months for him, so hopefully this looming move to Sevilla can breathe new life into his career.
