Once again, the prospect of Alexander Isak leaving Newcastle United for Liverpool has been suggested.
Geordie Boot Boys understands that Newcastle United are confident Isak will sign a new contract at the club this summer despite interest from Liverpool.
Isak’s Newcastle contract doesn’t expire until the summer of 2028, but the club are hoping to offer him a new deal, having starred in the Premier League for the last two seasons.
Still, and even despite Isak’s huge market value, the idea of Liverpool making a move has emerged again.

According to The Daily Mail, Isak would join Liverpool if he was given the option to this summer.
It’s also claimed that while a move to Anfield is not exactly “probable”, it’s seen as “possible”.
The article goes on to say that the fact Newcastle are quoting a huge £200million for the striker suggests they must be “slightly worried” about his long-term future if they are ready to even consider the money involved.
However, it’s also suggested that the feeling within the industry right now is that Liverpool will focus on sales next month. If they can’t make those, then they are unlikely to have the money for a big-name striker such as Isak.

Last week, Geordie Boot Boys spoke to football finance expert Adam Williams.
Williams highlighted Newcastle’s strong PSR position and suggested the club were under no immediate pressure to sell Isak even if a record offer emerged.
“My take would be that there is nothing forcing Newcastle to sell, even at a British record transfer fee,” he said.
“If they do relent, it will be because of strategy, not necessity.”
A player being open to a move is one thing. After all, why wouldn’t a move to newly crowned Premier League champions Liverpool appeal? It’d only be natural to view that as an exciting prospect.
That does not mean, however, that Isak will be pushing to leave Newcastle this summer.
