After beating Newcastle United in the race to sign James Maddison, Tottenham Hotspur are now looking to land another Toon target.
Maddison joined Spurs last month after Newcastle distanced themselves from the midfielder. Eddie Howe’s side decided that the 26-year-old was not essential, and turned their attention elsewhere.
That left the door wide open for Tottenham to swoop in, who completed a £40million deal for the England international.
Now they are looking for further midfield reinforcements, and have their eye on another player who Newcastle are looking to sign.
Tottenham want to sign Conor Gallagher
According to the Telegraph, Tottenham are interested in signing Conor Gallagher from Chelsea this summer.

The report states that the 23-year-old could now cost as much as £50million, and that the decision will lie with new Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino. It has been claimed that he wants to keep him at Stamford Bridge, but there is an obvious need for the Blues to trim down their squad this summer.
That could create an opportunity for Tottenham, who are targeting another player who Howe has his eye on.
Newcastle have targeted Gallagher again
Gallagher is a long term target for Newcastle, and has been linked once again ahead of next season.
It has been claimed that the Magpies would like to sign the 23-year-old on loan – although they would be willing to do a permanent deal if a temporary switch does not appeal to Chelsea.
He is a player who Howe really likes, but has so far struggled to sign. This is the third transfer window in a row that the Newcastle boss has tried to bring Gallagher to Tyneside.

It feels like it will be third-time unlucky, regardless of whether or not Spurs are interested.
Chelsea have proven to be difficult to negotiate with, and if they do decide to sell then a move to Tottenham would probably be more appealing. It would mean Gallagher would not need to relocate.
He could be another player who signs for Tottenham instead of Newcastle, although it looks like that won’t be the case with Harvey Barnes.
Spurs made a bid for the Leicester City winger earlier this summer, but he is now closing in on a move to St James’ Park.
