Newcastle United are looking to sign Tino Livramento this summer, and a move for the Southampton defender could lead to another recent Toon arrival being shipped out on loan.
The Magpies have been looking at various Southampton players after they were relegated, and now Livramento appears to be the closest to arriving.
Eddie Howe is looking to deepen his squad, which means signing a right-back who can provide cover for player of the season Kieran Trippier.
Livramento can certainly do that job, but his potential arrival could see a January recruit depart temporarily.
Newcastle could loan out Harrison Ashby
According to i News, Harrison Ashby could be loaned out this summer. The report states multiple Championship clubs have asked about a potential deal ahead of next season.

Ashby only joined the club at the start of the year, arriving for £3million from West Ham. There was some buzz, but an appreciation that he is a player for the future. Although he did ensure that expectations are high, likening himself to Newcastle’s star defender Trippier.
But since his arrival, Ashby has not played a single minute of senior football. He is yet to make his Toon debut – although that has been partially down to injury. He has struggled for fitness since his move from West Ham, but did impress in a Premier League 2 appearance for Newcastle’s Under-21s against Norwich.
The ‘tremendous‘ 21-year-old showed against the Canaries why he is so highly rated, and now there is speculation that he could be loaned out. And in his place could arrive a man who is actually younger than him, with Livramento still just 20-years-old.

But the former Chelsea youngster has Premier League experience, and proved how good he is at the top level before suffering an ACL injury back in April 2022.
Now he is fit again, and Newcastle could be set to offer him an immediate route back to the Premier League. If that does happen, Ashby could be temporarily shown the door.
