Donny van de Beek will come up against one of the other sides who were interested in him during the January transfer window tomorrow night.

Everton host Newcastle in what could be a massive night in the battle for Premier League survival.

But the Magpies already look safe, it is the Toffees who need a win after losing their last two games conceding six goals and scoring none.

Van de Beek reportedly turned Newcastle down in January, because he did not want to be part of a relegation battle.

That has not worked out as planned, with the Magpies already looking forward to next season and Everton really struggling.

And the fixture at Goodison Park could deepen van de Beek’s regret over his January choice if Newcastle get back to winning ways.

That said, would van de Beek even get into the Newcastle team now?

His performance against Leeds was described as ‘tremendous’ on Match of the Day but he has not pulled up too many trees aside from that.

Bruno Guimaraes had to be so patient for his chance and that only came because Joelinton was injured so where would van de Beek get in?

But he would surely rather be dealing with that dilemma than worrying about ending his second season in English football with a relegation.
