Newcastle United fans have finally heard from Vakhtang Salia.

The teenager is set to join the club in August, with Newcastle United very excited about the arrival of Vakhtang Salia.

Paul Mitchell pushed to bring Salia to Newcastle United, and the hope is that he has the potential to save the club a lot of money in the future.

The 17-year-old will officially join the Magpies from Dinamo Tbilisi in August when he turns 18, with Newcastle planning to loan Salia out.

They will hope that he can eventually grow into a first-team player on Tyneside, and Eddie Howe will absolutely love what the teenager has had to say after visiting Newcastle.

What Vakhtang Salia has said about his best position

During a visit to Tyneside, Salia sat down and spoke to the Newcastle United media team for the first time.

He was asked about his best position, and the Georgian teenager was keen to stress his versatility.

“I don’t think I can play just one position,” he told Newcastle’s official website.

“I can play in three positions. Just let me play and I will prove.”

Salia was then asked what his best attribute is.

“I don’t care. Just play me. I don’t like to think about me, I let people think and talk about me.”

Eddie Howe will love Newcastle United youngster’s mentality

Salia is ready to let his football do the talking, and that kind of attitude will delight the Newcastle United manager.

Eddie Howe will also enjoy Salia’s comment about being versatile, with the attacker insisting that he can play in more than one position. He can play anywhere across the forward line, which will make him massively appealing to Howe.

Throughout the current Newcastle squad, Howe has players who can operate in multiple roles. Salia will hope to join that group in the coming years, as he prepares to officially join the club later this year.

It might be a while before we see Salia in a black and white shirt, but the club clearly has high expectations. As for Salia, he is confident enough in his own ability. As he says, all he needs is a chance and he will prove how good he is.

The Georgian youngster appears to have the right mentality, and it is going to be very exciting to follow his Newcastle United career.
