Newcastle United will have to move a lot of players on this summer.
There will be plenty of incomings, but there also has to be outgoings. The Magpies have a lot of players who’ve been at the club for a while and could benefit from a fresh start elsewhere.
The Telegraph report that as many as 10 players are likely to leave St James’ Park.
With that in mind, here are 10 players who could leave Newcastle this summer
Ciaran Clark

The defender hasn’t featured since the 1-0 win over Leeds in January, and was dropped from the Premier League squad a few weeks later. Clark has struggled in a Toon shirt this season, although he did inadvertently inspire Joelinton’s midfield renaissance.
Isaac Hayden
Hayden has already hinted twice on social media that his Newcastle career is coming to an end this summer. With the Magpies’ midfield improving, it’s impossible to see him getting back into Eddie Howe’s side.
Dwight Gayle
The 2016 signing is merely a backup option for Newcastle nowadays, and only started once this season. That came in the League Cup. With another striker being targeted, Gayle will certainly be moved on.
Matt Ritchie

Howe says he’s an ‘integral‘ player, but this summer feels like the end for Ritchie. He had a rough start to the campaign and has barely featured since the turn of the year. The 32-year-old has been linked with a move back to Bournemouth.
Karl Darlow
This will largely depend on whether or not Newcastle sign a goalkeeper this summer. If they do, Darlow is certain to leave. He’s too good to be the Magpies’ third choice stopper, and needs first-team minutes elsewhere.
Federico Fernandez
An exceptional signing by Rafa Benitez and a leader at the back, but his time on Tyneside should be up. Fernandez actually captained Newcastle twice at the start of the season, but has only played twice under Howe. However, the Toon boss did describe him as a ‘model professional‘ late last year.
Jeff Hendrick

A forgotten man at St James’ Park. Hendrick has been out on loan at QPR in the Championship, and should seal a return to the second tier this summer. He’ll always be known as the scorer of the final goal of the Mike Ashey era.
Javi Manquillo
Perhaps the least likely on this list to depart, but Manquillo’s future may be in doubt given the form of Emil Krafth. The Swede has established himself as Kieran Trippier’s deputy, leaving Manquillo further down the pecking order.
Jamal Lewis

Another player who was removed from the Premier League squad, Lewis might struggle to get a fresh chance at St James’ Park. A new left-back will be signed this summer, while Paul Dummett has agreed a new contract. It’s difficult to see the £15million signing getting an opportunity.
Freddie Woodman
Once tipped to be a future Newcastle number one, but that might have passed Woodman by. He barely featured on loan at Bournemouth, and will surely be sold or loaned out again this summer.
