Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall are quite the double act at Newcastle United.
When Howe was in talks to become Toon manager, he was insistent that he brought in his own backroom staff. They were a team, and that included his righthand man Tindall.
He actually took charge of Howe’s first ever game as Newcastle manager, and his popularity at St James’ Park has grown since then.
Toon fans absolutely love Tindall, who became a viral sensation last season amid claims that he always tried to make himself the centre of attention. Whether it was cropping up in photos or shaking hands before Howe, Tindall became a meme.
While it was initially intended to mock Tindall, it only enhanced his popularity on Tyneside, where he is now dubbed ‘Mad Dog’.

However, it sounds like we are going to see less of 45-year-old when the new Premier League season kicks off in less than two weeks.
Newcastle coach Jason Tindall impacted by Premier League change
That is because the Premier League have announced a new set of rules regarding behavior of players and coaching staff.
New rules state that only one person is allowed to coach from the technical area, while only one other person is actually allowed to stand at all – but they must be closer to the bench rather than the touchline.
This has been brought in due to an increase in ‘unacceptable behavior towards match officials’.
The announcement will force a change of tact at Newcastle, with Howe and Tindall always operating right next to each other on the touchline. As we said earlier, they are a double act.

But it now looks like Tindall will have a reduced role, which is certainly not good. He is a crucial part of our coaching staff, and has a fantastic working relationship with Howe.
There have been times when Tindall has been involved in flashpoints on the touchline, but it always seems to have been altercations with the opposition dugout rather than the match officials.
It is another rule change that will hinder Newcastle, and it will be interesting to see how strongly it is enforced when the new Premier League season begins in just over a week.
