Eddie Howe was at the Amex Stadium for Newcastle United’s game against Brighton and Hove Albion this evening despite his appointment as the club’s new manager continuing to stall.
The former Bournemouth manager was pictured sitting alongside Amanda Staveley at the game, as Graeme Jones took his third game in charge as interim boss against Graham Potter’s side.
Howe has been in talks with the Magpies since midweek following the dramatic turn of events which saw Unai Emery turn us down.
Having been offered the job, the 43-year-old has agreed to join the club in principle.

But according to 90min, the delay in Howe’s appointment is due to there not being an agreement reached as of yet regarding his number two Jason Tindall.
The report adds that the Saudi-led consortium were keen to appoint the new manager first and then deal with who will be in his backroom staff afterwards.
However, Howe has reportedly insisted that he wants a number of his backroom staff to join him in Tyneside.
The Chronicle reported that one of Howe’s demands would be that he gets to bring in his own backroom staff and have ‘familiarity’ around him.

That was something that was reportedly not promised to him when he was going for the Celtic job.
Tindall is a free agent after departing Bramall Lane in the summer, and Howe has made it clear that he will not take up his position without his right-hand man.
90min claim that Newcastle’s opening offer to Tindall, 43, is ‘way-off’ what he expected and he rejected the terms.
Upon hearing this news, Howe has allegedly reaffirmed his stance to the owners that he will not be coming to St James’ Park without his good friend.
It’s highly unlikely that the deal will collapse with Howe in attendance at Brighton, but the club need to get the deal done and get all the formalities over the line.
