Former Newcastle United striker Chris Wood has extended his stay with Nottingham Forest.
Chris Wood is on course for the best season of his Premier League career, with the New Zealand international already equalling his best tally of 14 goals.
He is leading the line for this sensational Nottingham Forest team, as they challenge for a place in next season’s Champions League. They have even been described as Premier League title contenders.
It is hard to believe this is the same Chris Wood that Newcastle United sold two years ago. At the age of 33-years-old, the striker is playing the best football of his career.

Chris Wood signs new two-year deal at Nottingham Forest
And it is now a career that will continue at the City Ground.
Wood’s Nottingham Forest contract was due to expire in the summer, but now he has committed his future to Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
The former Burnley forward has signed a two-year contract extension, keeping him at Nottingham Forest until the summer of 2027. By then he will be 35-years-old.
Newcastle United must offer the same to Fabian Schar
The fact that it is not just a one-year deal is significant.
Forest have shown real commitment to Wood by offering him a multi-year deal at his age, and now Newcastle United must copy their Premier League rivals.
Fabian Schar is in the final year of his Toon contract right now. As it stands, he will be leaving on a free transfer in the summer.
Of course, no one wants that to happen. Newcastle want Schar to stay. Schar wants to stay at Newcastle.
However, it is not that simple. Geordie Boot Boys were told last year that Newcastle might have to offer Schar a multi-year deal, as opposed to just a one-year extension.
Like Wood, Schar is also 33-years-old. And like Wood, he is still performing at an extremely high level.
There is no way that the Magpies can afford to let Schar leave on a free this summer. Eddie Howe is short of centre-back options enough as it is.
The Swiss defender has shown no signs of slowing down, and it would be a huge mistake of Newcastle United not to offer him the type of contract he is looking for.
