Former Newcastle United player Yannick Toure has joined Swiss side Young Boys.
The striker was one of multiple youngsters released by the Magpies this summer, and he now has a new club.
Toure has gone back to Young Boys, who Newcastle signed him from back in 2018.
He has agreed a three-year deal, and will be managed by former Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner.
It was a surprise to see Toure released by the club this summer, but clearly those in charge felt he didn’t have what it takes to make the grade at first-team level.
Toure, now 20-years-old, is back where he started his career, and will hope to re-settle quickly and prove Newcastle United wrong.

While Toure will be disappointed that his Newcastle career didn’t really get going, he can take hope from a former Magpie who was also let go.
Kevin Mbabu made limited appearances for the Newcastle first-team, but did impress when called upon. That game against Chelsea when he nullified Eden Hazard was sensational.
However, the Swiss defender was allowed to leave the club in 2016. He joined Young Boys on loan, then a year later the deal became permanent.
Since then, Mbabu has gone from strength to strength.
With Young Boys he got the chance to be a first-team regular, and even played in the Europa League.
He’d done so well after two years that he got a bigger move, joining Wolfsburg for €9.2million.
Since leaving Newcastle he’s also became a Swiss international, playing 17 times for his country and recently appearing at Euro 2020.
Now Toure will have the chance to get his career going at the same club.
It didn’t work out at Newcastle for Mbabu or Toure, but the former’s progress will surely inspire the latter.
