The goals are continuing to flow for Newcastle’s Under-23s side thanks to Yannick Toure.
Main man Elias Sorensen was allowed to leave in January, joining League One outfit Blackpool on loan. In Sorensen’s absence, Toure has really stepped up to the plate.

Against Blyth Spartans, the young forward scored a startlingly quick hat-trick. The 18-year-old found the net in the 7th minute, the 17th and the 23rd. The game finished 7-2 to the Magpies, with Kelland Watts also bagging a hat-trick and Juanito getting on the score sheet.
The convincing win ensured the Magpies’ youngsters advanced to the Northumberland Senior Cup semi-final. The other three quarter-finals take place over the next two nights.

While most supporters won’t be queuing up for tickets should Newcastle reach the final, fans are excited to see Toure banging in the goals.
Toure goals get Newcastle fans talking
Sorensen got a lot of fans excited earlier in the season. Many wanted to see him get a chance in the first-team. That didn’t happen, but his time will come in the future.
And supporters now have another forward to get excited about too. With Joselu struggling to provide adequate back up for Salomon Rondon, it is at least nice to know that we do have striking options waiting in the wings for the future.

However, we shouldn’t get too carried away with Toure’s heroics against Blyth Spartans. The National League North side did state before the game that it would be a severely weakened side.
The Spartans took the hammering in good spirit, with an amusing reply to Newcastle confirming the win on Twitter.
