Who is Leo Shahar?

Leo Shahar is a young professional footballer, who plays at right-back, making his way in the game and hoping to break into the Newcastle first team in 2025.

Shahar spent the first decade of his fledgling career at boyhood club Wolverhampton Wanderers before being snapped up by Newcastle in 2023.

He has continued to develop his game in the North East, captaining England at U18 level and signing his first professional contract in May 2024.

Shahar trained with the first team several times last season and was named on the bench for the victory over Brentford.

Shahar signed a new deal with Newcastle in June 2025 and is now looking to take the next step in his career and make his senior debut.

Shahar was born on March 18, 2007, making him just 18 years old.
