Newcastle United are on a real high after an incredibly exciting week, but their injury crisis did get even worse.
Nick Pope was the latest player to crumble. He appears to have dislocated his shoulder during the 1-0 win over Manchester United, and now looks set for a spell on the sidelines.
That will give Martin Dubravka a chance to play, and the goalkeeper was praised by Eddie Howe for his contribution off the bench on Saturday night.
But while Pope has joined the injured list, there is one player who could be about to come off it.
Sven Botman has been out of action with a knee injury
Sven Botman has not played for the Magpies since the 8-0 win over Sheffield United in September. On that day, he scored his first ever goal for the club.
However, a knee injury has kept him out of action ever since, meaning the 23-year-old has missed Newcastle‘s previous 14 games.
There were mixed messages about his recovery, with the club doing their best to ensure the defender did not need to undergo surgery. That would have been disastrous and meant an even lengthier absence for the Dutchman.
But Howe provided a positive update ahead of the Man United game, and now a report from the Athletic suggests that a comeback is closer than ever before.

When Sven Botman will return to full Newcastle training
According to the Athletic, Sven Botman is scheduled to return to Newcastle first-team training today (Monday, December 4th).
That is a massive boost for Eddie Howe, in a week where he is preparing for tough trips to Everton and Tottenham Hotspur.
It will be great to see Botman back in action, but his impending return does present Howe with an issue.
In his absence, Jamaal Lascelles has come in and played brilliantly. On current form, it would be really harsh to remove the 30-year-old from the starting lineup.
But Botman is arguably the best centre-back at the club, and Howe will want to get him back in his XI as soon as possible.
His impending return gives the Newcastle boss a bit of a dilemma, but it is a welcome one as the Magpies’ injury woes begin to slowly dissipate.
