Antonio Cordero could soon be a Newcastle United player.
Cordero is widely expected to join Newcastle United imminently, although there is yet to have been any official confirmation at the time of writing.
Indeed, Newcastle signed Cordero from Malaga on a pre-contract agreement, with the teenage winger set to sign as perhaps the final incoming under sporting director Paul Mitchell.
Mitchell is set to leave Newcastle at the end of June, despite only having arrived in 2024.
Cordero appeared to say goodbye to his Malaga teammates on social media ahead of their final game of the season in the Spanish second tier, which proved to be a 2-2 draw with Burgos.
With his season at Malaga now having come to a close, it’s interesting to hear how the fans reacted.

Merchan Directo revealed that there was an emotional moment after the game when the Malaga players clapped the fans, thanking them for their support throughout the season.
Each player took a step forward to get their moment with supporters.
The outlet claimed Cordero did not get the same kind of cheers as some of his other teammates.
Rather than huge cheers, the teenager received only a warm applause in what looks like a farewell.

What Eddie Howe thinks of Antonio Cordero
Cordero scored six goals while registering seven assists in 39 games in the Spanish second tier during the 2024/25 campaign.
While that’s a decent haul from an exciting young player, to expect him to step straight into a Premier League team when his move to Newcastle is confirmed feels like a stretch.
Eddie Howe’s side are a Champions League team again and have ambitions to win more trophies after scratching their itch by lifting the Carabao Cup in March.
Breaking into that kind of team won’t be easy for anyone, never mind a teenager playing in the Spanish second tier.
Still, Howe has confirmed Cordero will get a chance at Newcastle if he deems him ready when watching him in training.
