What Lewis Hall was spotted doing at full-time after Newcastle vs Bournemouth

For the fifth game in a row, Lewis Hall was an unused substitute for Newcastle United on Saturday.

The 19-year-old remained on the bench as Newcastle United struggled against Bournemouth, while Joe White even came on to make his Toon debut ahead of Lewis Hall.

It was a frustrating afternoon for the Magpies, and it will have been another frustrating afternoon for Hall.

Once again, Newcastle’s left-hand side was exploited. Dan Burn struggled yet again, and it led to Bournemouth attacker Antoine Semenyo finding the net.

But for all of Eddie Howe‘s troubles down the left, he continues to ignore Lewis Hall.

And while the players that featured were left to reflect on a disappointing draw after the full time whistle, Hall was out running in the rain.

What Lewis Hall did after Newcastle 2 Bournemouth 2

According to iNews, Lewis Hall was involved in the post-match warm down at St James’ Park as the floodgates opened on Tyneside.

He worked with the other players who did not feature in the 2-2 draw, with Hall donning a GPS vest on his chest.

Joe White substitution is no reflection on Hall

For many, Hall should not have been involved in that post-match warm down. Instead, he should have been involved in the actual game.

A lot of supporters have raised concerns over the fact that Joe White came on before him, but that is not a complaint that I buy into.

While Hall should be held in higher regard than White, the left-back just was not required. Howe wanted to make a change in the middle of the park, and White was the only centre-midfielder on the bench.

Selecting White should not be seen as a reflection on Hall, who had already seen Tino Livramento come on instead of him at left-back.

That is the youngster’s main issue – the backup right-back is ahead of him in the pecking order. But so he should be, as Livramento has impressed on the left of defence.

For Hall, it is not looking good, but we must remember that he was signed for the future rather than the present.
