Newcastle United are looking to go all the way in the FA Cup this season, which is why Eddie Howe will pick his best team to start against Fulham.

The Magpies head to Craven Cottage next weekend after their mid-season break, taking on Marco Silva’s side in the fourth round of the competition. This comes after they knocked Sunderland out in the Tyne-Wear derby.

Eddie Howe has been rewarded with an all Premier League tie, and it will certainly be a difficult game for Newcastle.

That is because Fulham are a good side, and because Newcastle have plenty of injury issues right now.

Howe has limited options in midfield, with Sandro Tonali suspended and Joe Willock and Elliot Anderson injured. On top of that, Joelinton is also absent – and could be out for the rest of the season.

That means Newcastle will only have three fit centre midfielders against Fulham, but it could drop down to two according to an update from iNews.

Bruno Guimaraes could miss Fulham vs Newcastle United

According to iNews, Bruno Guimaraes could be a doubt for Newcastle’s FA Cup clash with Fulham on January 27th.

The 26-year-old is nursing a hamstring problem that he suffered during the 3-2 defeat to Manchester City.

It almost resulted in Bruno being substituted during that game, while he was unable to provide a positive update as he exited St James’ Park.

Newcastle always struggle without Bruno

Howe will be desperate for Bruno to shake off this hamstring problem in time for the game against Fulham.

Not only are Newcastle short of midfielders, but they are a much worse team when Bruno does not feature.

He is completely ‘unique‘, and the Magpies often look incapable of winning when he is not on the pitch.

Bruno has only missed one game so far this season, having been suspended for the trip to Bournemouth in November. Unsurprisingly, we lost that game.

It is vital that Bruno does not join our injury list, as he the most important player at the club. He makes us tick.

However, a layoff could soon be on the horizon no matter what, as the Magpies’ number 39 is one booking away from a two-game suspension in the Premier League.
