Newcastle United left it late to concede the winning goal against Manchester City in another disappointing defeat, but there were more injury concerns but the already stretched squad.
Newcastle were already without 10 first-team players on Saturday after it was revealed that Tino Livramento was unavailable through illness, thankfully for Howe nothing long term.
Now, a new report from The Athletic claimed that Bruno Guimaraes was asked about his hamstring after the game, to which he gestured his hand side to side, another concern for Eddie Howe.
An injury to Bruno would be disastrous for Newcastle
Newcastle’s record without their star midfielder is incredibly poor and the team quite obviously struggle to get going without him as we’ve seen countless times before.
With other midfielders Joelinton and Joe Willock also out injured while Sandro Tonali is banned for another eight months, Newcastle would really be in crisis mode if they weren’t already.
Bruno has been playing at the top of his game once again this season which is exactly why teams are still interested in signing the 26-year-old despite his £100m release clause, he’s quite clearly worth the money.
But Newcastle, despite the rumours they could be looking to sell one of their star players, and especially Howe will be doing everything they can to keep him on Tyneside as he is the heart beat of this team and the only way they can hope to qualify for Europe this season.

Newcastle need some stability
Newcastle have been so unlucky with injuries this season it has massively derailed their domestic campaign as the team continue to slip down the Premier League table, on the verge of being a bottom half side.
Yes, everyone struggles with injuries around this time in a season coming out of the festive period which is so packed with fixtures, but it’s typically not to this extent.
Although Howe may want to set the record straight as soon as possible, the team will be very much looking forward to this two-week break before taking on Fulham in the FA Cup.
Hopefully for Howe in that time he can get a few more players closer to their return from injury and Newcastle can finally get a bit of stability heading into the second half of the season.
