Kieran Trippier says that everything is progressing as planned with his injury rehabilitation during the warm-weather training camp.
Earlier this week, the England international posted a social media update on his fitness battle as he edges closer to a return.
And in an interview with club media, Trippier has given a more detailed appraisal of how his return to full fitness is going.

“My recovery is going really well and I’m moving a lot better now. The ankle isn’t as tight any more, it’s really good progress,” he said.
“When you’ve got the boot on and on crutches, people think it’s a lot more serious than it is so it was good mentally for me to get those off at the right time.
“Everything’s going well with my rehab. As you’ve seen the last three weeks, players have been going in and out, and everybody’s ready.
“Murph (Jacob Murphy) has come in and done a fantastic job, and Miggy (Miguel Almiron) as well, even if they haven’t played for like six games so they deserve huge credit.”

Trippier has been a big miss during his time out of the side but he has been relentlessly positive and supportive of the side.
That underlines the spirit which has underpinned the recent revival, which has seen results carry on being good even with injuries hitting.
It is to be hoped that Trippier is not too far away and he said elsewhere in his interview that he could go up through the gears quickly now his boot is off.
