But while Toon officials are trying to bring Tosin to Tyneside, they have also secured the futures of two of the club’s brightest stars.

On Monday, it was announced that Alex Murphy has signed a new contract with the club. Now two more teenagers have put pen to paper and committed their futures to the Magpies.

It is excellent to see that Sanusi and Shahar have signed professional deals with Newcastle United. They have made major impressions since their respective arrivals from Birmingham City and Wolverhampton Wanderers, and there will be a lot of hope that they can develop into first-team stars in black and white.

Sanusi is certainly an exciting talent, given the speed and skill he possesses. Fans that have caught a glimpse of him cannot wait to see more.

And he has expressed his joy at signing his first professional contract on his official Instagam account.

Alongside a picture of him signing his new deal, the 17-year-old wrote: “Professional contract, we keep working.”

Sanusi received congratulations messages from various Toon teammates, such as Alfie Harrison, Travis Hernes and Cathal Heffernan.

And there was also a response from Tosin, who commented: “Congratulations bro.”

Why Tosin has contacted Newcastle youngster Sanusi

It is interesting to see Tosin already getting in touch with a player who could soon become his teammate.

The likely reason why is because they are both represented by the same agency – WNRS.

That may also give Newcastle an edge in negotiations with Tosin, having recently agreed a deal with another player who has the same representatives.

Hopefully the shoe is on the other foot soon, and Sanusi is congratulating Tosin for signing his own Newcastle United contract.
