Newcastle United already have two top class right-backs in the first-team, and it sounds like they also have an emerging star in their academy.

The Magpies currently have Kieran Trippier, who is an England international and one of the best right-backs in the Premier League today. He did endure a blip earlier this season, but he is still an elite talent who has made Newcastle United better on and off the pitch.

He is backed up by Tino Livramento, who has a staggering amount of potential. The 21-year-old will be our right-back for the next 10 years, and is only going to keep getting better as he continues to learn from Trippier.

In truth, he’s pretty good already! Livramento has really impressed Toon fans since his arrival from Southampton, and was arguably Newcastle’s best player during Monday night’s defeat to Chelsea.

He will fully replace Trippier when the time comes, and the club will be hoping that they also already have Livramento’s replacement waiting in the wings.

Newcastle youngster praised for his crossing

Last year, Newcastle United signed Leo Shahar from Wolverhampton Wanderers. He is a 16-year-old right-back, and someone who is already having an impact at Under-21 level.

Shahar was involved in Tuesday night’s Northumberland Senior Cup win over Bedlington Terriers, with Ben Dawson’s side coming from behind to win 4-1.

One of the goals was scored by Ellis Stanton, but he has given all the credit to Shahar for the assist.

Stanton told the club’s official website: “I saw Leo (Shahar) had the ball and he has one of the best deliveries so I managed to get my head onto it and score.”

Remember the name Leo Shahar

Shahar has been praised for his incredible crossing ability, which makes him a very exciting prospect. We currently have an elite crosser in Trippier, with his remarkable delivery creating chance after chance for his Toon teammates. He is up there with the best, and has 10 Premier League assists this season.

Based on Stanton’s comments, it sounds like Newcastle have another wicked crosser coming through their academy. We already have the next Allan Saint-Maximin in Trevan Sanusi, and now Shahar could be the next Kieran Trippier!

At 16, it will be a while before we see him in Eddie Howe’s first-team, but Leo Shahar is certainly a name worth keeping an eye on in the coming years.
