Tino Livramento admits £12m player has been helping him so much in training

Newcastle United defender Tino Livramento has admitted that Kieran Trippier has been a huge help in his first few months at the club.

After signing from Southampton in the summer, Livramento is now settling in at Newcastle and finally starting to get his chance in the starting 11 where he has so far proven to be a very smart signing.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Livramento has been blown away by the support of Trippier both on and off the pitch and is grateful to have someone so experienced guiding him.

Trippier’s leadership is invaluable to Newcastle

Trippier was one of the first signings under the new ownership, arriving from title winners Atletico Madrid for £12m, and has been the building block for every bit of success Newcastle have enjoyed in the last two years.

The 33-year-old’s leadership has helped to build a stable and sturdy defence and he is now guiding the next generation of defender’s at Newcastle.

Livramento is very grateful to have someone like Trippier at Newcastle, an experienced international player and title winner, to teach him and support him both as a player and a human being.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Livramento said: “He’s been really good with me. When I’ve come in he helped me with anything I needed, not even just football related.

“Coming into training and he’s helped me with my game even from the side of the pitch when I was playing in the Man United game.

“It’s been a real positive for me to have that guidance and it definitely helps hearing it come from someone so experienced.”

The sky is the limit for Livramento

Everyone knew that Livramento was going to develop well under the guidance of Trippier, but few expected him to show this level of ability so early on in his Newcastle career.

The full-back has been exceptional in his two appearances in the Carabao Cup and also impressed against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League despite the 2-0 defeat.

Similar to Trippier, Livramento has shown to be an excellent one-on-one defender, but he is also an explosive runner with the ball, can drive at defences down the wing and has a great cross on him.

There were concerns amongst fans that Trippier may be the hardest player in the team to replace when he retires, but Newcastle may have just found the perfect man to take over his role at the club.
