Steve Bruce has had his say on the Newcastle takeover this week, after Wednesday’s somewhat dramatic CAT hearing.
However, the Toon boss has admitted that he doesn’t ‘have a clue’ about what is going on.
That’s a sentiment a lot of Newcastle supporters will share, as this takeover saga has taken football fans to places they should never have to go. One day we’ll be able to just talk about the actual football…
But today is not that day, with the takeover saga set to go on until at least January. That’s when arbitration will take place, and it will hopefully lead to a conclusion. If luck is on our side, it will be a positive conclusion and Mike Ashley will be gone.
But fans have no clue what will happen, and have been desperate to know what Wednesday’s hearing means for the future of the club.
Bruce has been honest in his assessment of what is going on, admitting that the journalists who have been covering the case will know a lot more than him.
“I’m going to be brutally honest, I don’t have a clue,” Bruce said.
“Can you fill me in? You know a lot more than me – you reports jumping all over. It’s a bit complicated for me. I am aware there is a hearing going on but I have to try and switch off from it.”
These comments have amused a lot of Toon fans, who think there could be a double-meaning to what the manager has said.
Many supporters feel like Bruce doesn’t have a clue when it comes to management either. The fact Newcastle are still without a Premier League certainly doesn’t do him any favours.
Bruce will be praying his side get their first win against Wolves, otherwise he’ll be under a lot of pressure going into the second international break of the season.
