The pressure has ramped up on Bruce at the start of the season because Newcastle haven’t won any of their first three matches.
The EFL Cup exit at the hands of Burnley worsened the mood towards Bruce ahead of the visit of Southampton.
That is the other side of fans being back in stadiums.
It’s great for managers and players when things are going well, but far worse when things are not.
It’s fair to say they’re not going well for Bruce right now, and last season, the Newcastle fans couldn’t attend matches to make their feelings known.
