Newcastle United’s Amazon Prime documentary comes out this week, and Sean Longstaff has admitted that the entire squad have been laughing about one particular clip.
Snippets of the series have been released on social media, and they have only increased the excitement from Newcastle supporters.
We have seen Amanda Staveley wanting to play hardball with Everton over Anthony Gordon, while we also saw an incredible team talk from Eddie Howe.
The Amazon cameras caught Howe’s pre-match speech before Newcastle faced Manchester United at St James’ Park back in April.
In the buildup to that game, Man United boss Erik ten Hag criticised the Magpies for playing slowly, accusing them of timewasting.

Howe took issue with this, and used Ten Hag’s words as motivation for his players. It worked a treat, as Newcastle went on to win 2-0.
Now Longstaff has commented on the clip, and has looked back at Howe’s special words of encouragement.
Sean Longstaff admits Newcastle players loved looking back at Man United clip
Ahead of the release of We Are Newcastle United on Amazon Prime, Longstaff spoke to the Daily Mail. He addressed the viral clip of Howe’s now infamous team talk against Manchester United.
“We were speaking about that clip, and I think they found the only time the manager swore all season!” he said.
“We were all laughing about that. But we are lucky now that we have one of the best managers in the world, and I will always be grateful to him for what he has done for me and the rest of the lads.
“You can see in the clips how he wants us to play. Before Man United, it’s not as if we needed any more motivation, but he always seems to tick the right boxes and presses the right buttons to get the very best out of us.”
Newcastle have ‘one of the best managers in the world’
While Longstaff and the players had a laugh about Howe swearing, it certainly did make the team talk more emphatic – not that we are advocating the use of foul language!

But it helped Howe get his point across, and his players responded in emphatic fashion. Newcastle blew Man United away on that day and deserved to win. Looking back, it was a vital three points on our road towards Champions League qualification.
That was a great day for Toon fans, and served as a little bit of revenge following the Carabao Cup final disappointment earlier in the year.
Newcastle produced a special performance all over the pitch, and the foundations were laid in the dressing room by Howe and his motivational words.
The players can laugh looking back at it now, but it gave them that extra 10% to get the result they needed. And that is why Howe is one of the best around.
