Sandro Tonali is finally showing his worth to Newcastle United.
His first season as a Newcastle United player was scuppered by a suspension, with Sandro Tonali serving a 10-month ban for breaching betting regulations.
He had became one of Newcastle’s most expensive signings ever at £55million, yet was suddenly unable to play for his new club.
Now Sandro Tonali is back, and is doing his best to make up for lost time.
Eddie Howe has changed Tonali’s position, and it has resulted in him playing the best football of his Newcastle United career. The 24-year-old operating as a ‘six’ has transformed the way that the Magpies play, with his performances helping the club surge up the Premier League table and begin to dream of a Wembley return.

Sandro Tonali’s ‘burning desire’
Toon fans absolutely adore Tonali, who is doing his best to repay those who supported him during such a difficult period of his life.
According to the i Paper, people within Tonali’s camp say that he has a ‘burning desire’ to repay the club and its fans for the way he was supported following the news of his gambling addiction and subsequent suspension.
No fear of Sandro Tonali leaving Newcastle United
With Tonali so keen to give back, talk of him leaving Newcastle United late last year came as a major surprise.
It was reported in Italy that the midfielder wanted to depart St James’ Park and return to Serie A, with AC Milan fans dreaming of a return to the San Siro.
However, Tonali’s agent rubbished the story, insisting that his client was happy on Tyneside.
There were claims that Tonali was unhappy with his minutes, which was not a major surprise. Before switching position, he was in and out of the team. But talk of a move away was pure fantasy.
The i Paper add that Newcastle United were not worried at all by the Tonali rumours.
Fast forward to the present day and Tonali has found a home in the Newcastle United starting XI. Minutes are no longer hard to come by, with Tonali becoming the key cog in the Toon midfield.
He is repaying the club and supporters for their faith in him, and it will be mission completed if he can ensure Newcastle United end their trophy drought this season.
