Eddie Howe lifted the pressure with a derby win over Sunderland on Saturday, as Newcastle United celebrated in style.
Following the 3-0 thrashing of their biggest rivals in the FA Cup third round, the Magpies took their traditional post-victory photo.
But while this usually takes place in the dressing room, this time they did it on the Stadium Of Light turf in front of the 6,000 Toon fans who made the trip to Wearside.
It was a pretty controversial thing to do, but the Newcastle fans absolutely loved it. This win was for them, and it is no surprise to hear that Jason Tindall was the brains behind the operation.
Eddie Howe and his players celebrated wildly in front of the supporters after an emphatic win – their first in the Tyne-Wear derby since 2011. While they were expected to be victorious, this was an important moment for the club, and they treated it as such.
However, some people who are not of a Newcastle persuasion were not impressed with the celebrations, one of which was Richard Keys.

Richard Keys not impressed with Newcastle celebrating after beating Sunderland
Presenter Richard Keys, who is rarely complimentary towards the Magpies, gave his view on the on-pitch celebrations.
He took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to post a picture of the celebration from a newspaper.
Alongside the image, he wrote: “Did they win something….?”
Keys just does not get it when it comes to Newcastle after Eddie Howe comments
The celebration police are out in force yet again. I do not know why so many pundits have issues with teams celebrating victories. No, Newcastle did not win the entire FA Cup on Saturday, but they won a massive derby game against their biggest rivals, and it is a result that could galvanise their season.
A win is a win, and the victors can celebrate in any way they like. We have seen both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur be accused of going over the top this season, and now it is Newcastle who are in the firing line.
Keys’ comments come just weeks after he was suggesting that Eddie Howe was under pressure at St James’ Park and could be replaced by a major name like Jose Mourinho. The fact he made that claim just shows he does not understand Newcastle United at all, and he cemented that further with his complaints about Saturday’s celebrations.
