It has now been revealed whose idea it was to take a team photo in front of the fans after Newcastle United’s derby victory against Sunderland yesterday.

Although taking team photo’s in the dressing room became a very common feature of Newcastle’s season last year, it’s not been as prominent as of late, but there was an incredible one taken yesterday.

A new report from The Athletic has now revealed that it was in fact Jason Tindall, Eddie Howe’s right-hand man, who came up with the idea to take the photo on the pitch in front of the travelling supporters.

Newcastle really made the most of their win against Sunderland

After what was a dominant display against their biggest rivals, this just topped the whole day off for the Newcastle fans who had made the short but arduous trip to the Stadium of Light on Saturday morning.

It’s really no surprise that it was Tindall who came up with the idea. He’s become something of a cult-hero around Tyneside for his antics on the touchline and ruffling a few feathers in the Premier League.

He’s not exactly well liked by opposition teams and has often been made fun of for the amount of camera time he seems to get, but it’s only earned him more respect amongst the Newcastle fanbase.

As Howe has previously said in interviews, the pair come as a package with Tindall having just as big of an impact on the team as himself. The duo are now icons in the North East and will hope they can be the first in decades to bring some silverware to the city.

Newcastle’s win was a huge mood lifter

There’s certainly been a tense and nervous atmosphere around Newcastle, especially after a shock defeat to Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day which was a big blow to the team’s confidence.

Newcastle then followed that up with a defeat to Liverpool on New Year’s Day and suddenly found themselves in a mid-table position and wildly out of form.

It’s fair to say that they were absolutely desperate to get the win over Sunderland and when they did, you could practically feel the mood in the city and in the stadium immediately lift and the positivity from last season and the beginning of this campaign was back.
