Newcastle United duo Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson are edging closer to a return from injury.
The Magpies have been without two of their best players for a while now. Trippier hasn’t featured since the 1-0 win over Aston Villa in February, while Wilson has been out even longer.
The Newcastle number nine limped off against Manchester United just after Christmas and has been out injured ever since.
Luckily, Howe’s side have done well without two of their top players. Newcastle are currently 14th in the Premier League, nine points clear of the relegation zone.

However, standards slipped against Everton last week, raising fresh concern from fans who had just witnessed their side go nine games unbeaten.
With pressure on the Magpies to bounce back, it’s incredibly exciting to hear that Wilson and Trippier aren’t too far away from a return.
Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson eyeing injury return against Palace

According to the Telegraph, the Newcastle duo will hopefully return before the end of April. In fact, both players are targeting the Crystal Palace game to make their comebacks.
Newcastle have three games between now and then. They face Spurs away before home ties with Wolves and Leicester.
Then we face Palace on April 20th, a game set to take place underneath the St James’ Park lights.
Seeing Wilson and Trippier return to face Patrick Vieira’s side would be brilliant. While we’ve performed well without them, they will certainly boost our starting XI.

The important thing is that we don’t rush them. Wilson’s injury is particularly precarious, so we need to be careful.
The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards has since tweeted that the 30-year-old has an outside chance of facing Wolves on April 8th, but that feels incredibly unlikely.
If Newcastle are still in desperate need of points by the end of April, the returns of Trippier and Wilson could come at the perfect time.
