Kieran Trippier has continued to mock pundit Gabby Agbonlahor as Newcastle United celebrate their latest victory.

The Magpies made it nine games unbeaten on Thursday night, coming from behind to beat Southampton 2-1.

It was a special night for Newcastle, who were once again backed by an incredible away support.

They’ve had a special supporter in recent weeks, with Trippier continuing to attend games despite his injury. The right-back hasn’t featured since the 1-0 win over Aston Villa, and it is unclear when he will return to action.

But the England international has been pictured at recent Toon games on his crutches, much to the anger of Agbonlahor. The former Aston Villa forward criticised Trippier, claiming he should be at home recovering.

Co-owner Jamie Reuben took a swipe at Agbonlahor on Twitter, and now Trippier is mocking him as well.

Kieran Trippier continues ‘supporting’ Newcastle

After the victory, Trippier tweeted: “Always supporting the boys! I hope that’s allowed.”

The tweet was accompanied with a photoshopped version of the team photo from last night’s win. Trippier has been added to the picture, despite not being in the original snap.

The group photo after a win is becoming a great tradition for Newcastle. And it’s happening a lot more frequently.

And it’s good to see Trippier still having a laugh despite his injury. However, it’s unknown why he wasn’t in the squad snap. He was in attendance at St Mary’s, so maybe he was the one taking the photo this time…

Agbonlahor’s dig at the £12million man was ridiculous, and a lazy attempt to criticise Newcastle. He’s doing that a lot, and each swipe is more desperate than the last. But if it pays the bills, good luck to him.

All Newcastle are concerned about is winning games and putting points on the board. They’re yet to lose since Trippier’s injury, which is a testament to the squad’s ability and newfound confidence.

Newcastle are continuing to thrive without Trippier, which felt unthinkable when his fractured foot was confirmed.
