The summer transfer window is set to be hugely important for Newcastle United.
Once Premier League survival is officially secured, attentions will turn to how the club can climb the table next season. That will be the ambitions of the new owners, who won’t be keen to see the Magpies in another relegation battle.
To do that, our recruitment will be vital. Big names such as Kieran Trippier and Bruno Guimaraes arrived in January. Similarly exciting signings will be expected this summer.

Plenty of players have already been linked, from the intriguing to the outrageous. But one line that keeps coming out of the club regards how much money will be spent by Newcastle.
You just know the mainstream media will expect hundreds of millions of pounds to be hurled at fancy new players, but that isn’t the route Newcastle are going down.
Agents already told what not to expect from Newcastle in the summer transfer window
According to the Athletic, the Magpies will be ‘savvy’ with their spending, rather than splashing the cash. It was previously claimed by the Telegraph that Newcastle’s transfer budget will be less than the £90million spent in January.

The club’s head of recruitment Steve Nickson is already speaking to agents ahead of the summer transfer window, and the Athletic state he has told them that Newcastle won’t be spending lavish amounts of money.
The club’s hierarchy appears to be setting their stall early. We saw in January that multiple teams tried to take Newcastle for a ride and overcharge them. That’s what stopped Jesse Lingard moving to St James’ Park.
The Toon owners won’t be taken advantage of, and will continue to look for value for money. That will hopefully be easier in the summer compared to January – a notoriously chaotic window to operate in.
