According to the Athletic, Leeds have turned down the chance to sign reported Newcastle United target Harry Winks.
The report states that the Tottenham midfielder was offered to Marcelo Bielsa’s side on loan. However, they said no.
That means one of Newcastle United’s reported targets is still available as we edge closer towards the end of the summer transfer window.

According to the Daily Mail, Winks is one of multiple players the Magpies are considering on loan. Other options include Hamza Choudhury and Phil Jones.
But Winks would be the best addition, and a player who would certainly excite fans.
Steve Bruce desperately need a player like him in midfield. Winks is excellent in possession, and a bit less Hollywood than Newcastle’s best passer Jonjo Shelvey.
Will Tottenham offer Harry Winks to Newcastle after Leeds snub?
With the Athletic claiming that Tottenham actually offered Winks to Leeds, they’re clearly keen to get rid of him.

It’s a wonder why Leeds have turned him down, as the 25-year-old has proven he can be a top player. He’s got 10 caps for England, and received praise from the likes of Gareth Southgate and Pep Guardiola.
But if Tottenham have offered him to Leeds, will they offer him to Newcastle as well?
Newcastle need him more than Leeds, who have already got Kalvin Phillips thriving in a similar role.

But the Magpies have got an unbalanced midfield that Winks would massively improve.
Newcastle need a midfielder. Tottenham want rid of one who would walk into Bruce’s starting XI. Surely this is a deal that even Lee Charnley can complete without difficulty?
