Jack Young has completed a permanent move from Newcastle United to League One side Wycombe Wanderers (WWFC.com). He originally joined on loan in January, but after around three months, the Chairboys wanted to sign him.
The now-former Newcastle midfielder has signed a deal for three years at Wycombe. Young has been on the Magpies’ books since he was seven years old, making it roughly fourteen years he spent on Tyneside.
He hasn’t played many times for Wycombe, but that has been in part due to injury. He’s still only 21 and will have plenty of time to progress through the ranks at the Chairboys.

Chairboys boss Gareth Ainsworth has been ‘impressed’ by Young so far
Speaking to their club’s website, Wycombe manager Gareth Ainsworth spoke highly of Young and what he offers his side.
He stated, “Jack’s really impressed us, since the day he arrived, and we’re delighted to have him on board on a permanent basis.
“Every time he’s gone out there to train or play in matches, he’s given 100% and showed real quality, so it’s fantastic to have him here for the next three years and we’re looking forward to helping him unlock more of his potential.”

The midfielder was almost called back by Newcastle back in March (Shields Gazette). This was due to his lack of minutes away on loan. So for some Toon fans, it was somewhat of a surprise to see this deal be made permanent.
During his time at Newcastle, Young was named on the bench three times for the first team. Furthermore, he was a regular for the under-23s side and became the captain. In the 2019/20 campaign he went out on loan to Tranmere Rovers, but he didn’t make many appearances.
He made some appearances in pre-season last summer for the Magpies. He played against Doncaster Rovers (his debut), Rotherham, Burton and Burnley.

From the looks of it, Young now seems to be at a club where he can break into the first team. Additionally, despite his lack of minutes, it’s clear Ainsworth rates the youngster.
Perhaps the Chairboys will slowly implement him into the side. This could be a reason why he was signed because they see a long term future in him.
