Newcastle United face PSG in the Champions League on Wednesday night, and Chris Sutton believes it is a ‘hard one to call’.
The former Chelsea striker has been speaking about Newcastle’s upcoming Champions League game at St James’ Park, and believes it is the stage where the Magpies will be at their best in the competition.
A lot is being said about Newcastle’s home form in the Champions League. If they are going to advance to the next round, they will need to be very good at St James’ Park.
That journey begins on Wednesday night, when Paris Saint-Germain will be hit with a wall of noise as Toon fans look to create a raucous atmosphere that will roar their side towards victory.
That is what Chris Sutton is expecting, and he does not believe that Luis Enrique’s side will be looking forward to playing at St James’ Park.

Sutton thinks PSG will not be excited about playing Newcastle at St James’ Park
Sutton has appeared on 5 Live’s Monday Night Club, and spoke about Newcastle’s upcoming Champions League clash with PSG.
“I love the way that they play under Eddie Howe,” he said.
“They’ve got the support, really important for them. But the brand of football that they play, they’re pretty fearless home and away the way Eddie Howe sets them up. Very positive manager in the way that they play.
“PSG will not be relishing this tie at all. It’s a hard one to call.
“I actually thought Newcastle, their performance in Milan, they showed a lot of resilience. Got away with a draw but that would give them a bit of a foothold in terms of first point away from home, tough venue.
“Back home at St James’ is where I think they can do the business in this Champions League.”
Newcastle can do the business in the Champions League
Sutton does not think PSG will relish the game at St James’ Park, and that is a sentiment shared by Frank Leboeuf. He believes that the Ligue 1 will crumble under the pressure and lose 3-2.

A lot of the buildup has centred around how PSG will cope with the atmosphere. But they have played in big away games before, and will back themselves to have the tempremant to come out on top.
However, a lot of people are backing Newcastle to pull off an upset. That is a crazy thought when you consider where we were two years ago.
So much has changed on Tyneside, and it has led to Champions League nights returning to St James’ Park.
PSG will be the first opponent to experience it in 20 years, and it remains to be seen if they will rise to the occasion. Newcastle will hope they don’t, or will at least do their best to stop them from doing so.
