Newcastle United take on Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League tonight, but it will be a different team to the one that was held 0-0 by Claremont Foot at the weekend.

While Newcastle were toasting a 2-0 win against Burnley at St James’ Park, PSG were struggling on Saturday. They were unable to beat Claremont Foot, as their difficult start to Ligue 1 became even more underwhelming.

Luis Enrique will now be making changes to his starting XI in the aftermath of that draw, with reports in France predicting as many as three alterations to his side.

PSG set to make three changes for Champions League clash with Newcastle

According to Le Parisien, Enrique is going to make three changes to his starting lineup for the Champions League clash with St James’ Park.

They report that Lucas Hernandez, Manuel Ugarte and Warren Zaire-Emery will come into the side. They will take the places of Danilo Pereira, Fabian Ruiz and Bradley Barcola.

Le Parisien add that Enrique will also change PSG’s formation, reverting to a 4-3-3 system. That will see the French side match Newcastle’s shape, with Eddie Howe also certain to set his team up in a 4-3-3 formation.

While Achraf Hakimi will be at right-back, the report from France adds that he will play very high up the pitch. His speed could be a real issue for Newcastle, as he and Ousmane Dembele could cause major problems for Dan Burn at left-back.

The most interesting name in PSG’s starting lineup, away from Kylian Mbappe, will be Zaire-Emery. He is just 17-years-old, but has been playing a lot of senior football.

Now he is going to be starting in the Champions League against Newcastle, where the home side will have a 17-year-old of their own on the bench in Lewis Miley.
