Newcastle United are building up momentum ahead of facing Ipswich Town, as they aim to win three in a row.
It was all doom and gloom at Newcastle United not too long ago. Alan Shearer questioned Newcastle’s attitude, with the Magpies continuously being consistently inconsistent.
But the tide may have turned. Newcastle United smashed Leicester City 4-0, before breezing past Brentford to qualify for the Carabao Cup semi-finals.
Now they have the chance to make it a hat-trick of wins, as Eddie Howe’s side travel to Portman Road to face Ipswich Town.

But Howe will be forced to make at least one change, and this is Geordie Boot Boys’ predicted Newcastle United XI to face Ipswich Town.

Eddie Howe tweaks Newcastle defence
It had been claimed that Kieran Trippier was going to start against Brentford in the cup.
That did not happen, with Tino Livramento retaining his place at right-back. The 22-year-old played very well, but we are predicting that he will drop to the bench on Saturday.
Howe knows he needs to rotate his squad to keep his team fresh, which could result in Trippier replacing Livramento at right-back. The £12million man has not started for Newcastle since October 5th.
The rest of the Newcastle backline should remain unchanged, with Lewis Hall getting a slight rest on Wednesday night when Howe took him off in the 77th minute.
Sven Botman is due back in late December at the earliest, so will miss Saturday’s game against Ipswich.
Joelinton suspended for Ipswich Town trip
There will definitely be one change to the Newcastle United starting XI, with Joelinton set to serve a one-match suspension. He picked up his fifth yellow card of the season during the win over Leicester, with Howe calling Joelinton’s booking bizarre.
With the 28-year-old unavailable, Howe will have to tweak a midfield that has been functioning perfectly as of late.
Howe has a few options to replace Joelinton, with Sean Longstaff, Joe Willock and Lewis Miley waiting in reserve.
We are going to tip Longstaff to get the call, after he missed the Carabao Cup quarter-final due to a suspension of his own.
While Willock looked decent when he came on at half-time against Brentford, it feels more likely that he will be kept in reserve to be a potential game-changer in the second half. He is more suited to being an impact sub in comparison to Longstaff.
No change in attack for Newcastle
The Newcastle United front three should remain unchanged against Kieran McKenna’s side.
That means Jacob Murphy on the right, Anthony Gordon on the left and Alexander Isak through the middle.
Gordon performed well against Brentford, while Isak was surprisingly quiet.
He will hope for a livelier display on Saturday, as he aims to add to his tally of eight goals so far this season.
Predicted XI vs Ipswich: Dubravka; Trippier, Schar, Burn, Hall; Longstaff, Tonali, Bruno; Murphy, Isak, Gordon.
