A former Newcastle United star is set to sit down with PIF and discuss an exciting proposition for academy stars.
The transfer strategy at Newcastle United since the PIF takeover in 2021 has been vastly different to the years prior.
The new Saudi Arabian owners at Newcastle have invested in some superstar signings with Sandro Tonali, Alexander Isak, Bruno Guimaraes and Anthony Gordon now forming a star-studded spine in Eddie Howe’s side.
But the Profit and Sustainability Rules have seriously shackled Newcastle’s spending in recent windows, so PIF and the recruitment team have had to get creative.
Paul Mitchell wants Newcastle to sign youth from abroad, with Newcastle targeting exciting youngsters who will hopefully grow into stars on Tyneside.

Demba Ba plans PIF talks for Newcastle United loans
It has now been 12 years since Demba Ba left Newcastle United to join Chelsea. The French-Senegalese striker enjoyed two remarkable seasons at St James’ Park.
Ba was Newcastle’s best striker in the 2010s despite his short stint at the club, and he has maintained a great relationship with Toon fans and the club hierarchy ever since his departure.
Ba is now the co-owner of Ligue 2 club USL Dunkerque, and according to iNews he is planning talks with PIF over an exciting proposition.
The former Newcastle striker revealed that he will sit down and discuss a “mutually beneficial arrangement for players” with PIF, as he looks to find loan stars for his Ligue 2 side.
“For Newcastle, I have plans,” said Ba.
“It’s a club that counts for me, it counted in my career and in the next few weeks and months I’m going to make my way up north and see what we can do together.
“I will pay Newcastle a visit, it’s on my list absolutely.”
Newcastle United are restructuring loan system
Ba’s proposal is something PIF will certainly consider, especially as Newcastle are currently re-organising the loans department.
Newcastle recently hired a full-time psychologist to work with the loans team and player recruitment.
That is because Newcastle have pushed to recruit several exciting young players, and sending them out on loan to gather first-team experience is seen as a pivotal part of their development.

If Newcastle are able to strike an agreement with Ba and USL Dunkerque, then the Magpies will have a trustworthy destination to send some of their brightest young talents.
Newcastle are set to sign Antonio Cordero in their latest push to recruit youngsters, but the 18-year-old winger will likely fit directly into Eddie Howe’s first team rather than be viewed as an academy player.
