Newcastle United are preparing to face Fulham on Saturday, and youngster Joe White has been spotted training with the first-team.

The club have released official training pictures ahead of the trip to Craven Cottage, with various players not seen due to the international break.

Kieran Trippier is back though, having played zero minutes for England in the Nations League. The Three Lions lost against Italy then drew with Germany.

Sven Botman is also pictured, having turned down the chance to play for the Netherlands’ Under-21s side so he could focus on his club career. He will hope this decision boosts his chances of starting against Fulham.

But will White be involved too? The 19-year-old has never made a competitive appearance for the Newcastle first-team. He recently spoke about not wanting to play Under-21s football anymore.

The midfielder is keen to secure a loan move in January, having spent time at Hartlepool United last season. However, Newcastle’s injury woes could possibly open up a place for him on the bench. But that will depend on who Eddie Howe has available for Saturday’s game in the capital.

Callum Wilson not pictured in Newcastle training

One player who is expected to play is Callum Wilson, but he is nowhere to be seen in the club’s official training pictures. That’s despite the fact that he has said himself that he will be available.

The £20million man hasn’t played since the 3-3 draw with Manchester City, but will reportedly return to the starting lineup this weekend. That’s perfect timing given Alexander Isak’s injury.

While Wilson hasn’t been pictured in training, perhaps it is just a case of Newcastle managing his fitness. We can’t afford to lose him again with Isak out and Chris Wood also struggling with a rib problem.

With injuries and internationals, Howe has had a small group to work with over the past week or so. But he will hope to be able to put out a strong starting XI when his side face Fulham on Saturday.
