No one is laughing at Kieran Trippier right now, given how well he is playing for Newcastle United.
The 33-year-old is in spectacular form, proving to be a creative force for Eddie Howe’s side.
Trippier got his latest assist on Sunday, producing a glorious first time pass on the volley to give Alexander Isak a tap-in. It was breathtaking from Trippier, who is full of confidence at the moment.
He is as consistent as ever in defence, but he is also proving to be a difference maker in the final third.
The £12million man has created more chances than any other player in the Premier League so far this season, while he has six assists in his last four games.

There is no denying that Trippier is now one of the top right-backs in the country, but that was not always the case.
Gareth Southgate is delighted that Kieran Trippier now gets proper recognition
Trippier has been named in the England squad to face Australia and Italy during the current international break.
Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate has spoke about Trippier in the buildup, and believes that the Toon talisman is proving a lot of people wrong.
“I know Kieran Trippier is flavour of the month now, but we used to pick him and people used to laugh,” he said, as reported by the Chronicle.
“He’s proved himself again and again and again.
“They gave an excellent performance [against PSG] and it was a brilliant night for a fanbase and football club who are totally united and have obviously had a difficult 20 years waiting for a night like that.”

Newcastle are so lucky
It is only in the past few years that Trippier has been considered a top level player. He developed so much at Atletico Madrid, much to the delight of Newcastle who bought him in January 2022.
We all knew Trippier was going to be great in black and white, but I am sure a lot of us did not realise simply how good he was going to be. Everything he does is top level, both on and off the pitch.
That is why he is still a key player for England, despite not really getting international recognition from fans until that goal at the 2018 World Cup.
But Trippier is ageing like a fine wine. He is getting better and better, and it is fair to say that no one is laughing at him now.
