People in Holland stunned Newcastle could sell player they believe can be ‘world class’ in two years

Newcastle United have two world class players right now, and they could have at least one more by 2026.

As it stands, you could make very strong arguments to suggest that Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak are world class. Eddie Howe has said exactly that about the former, while he has admitted he would not pick any striker in world football ahead of the latter, who he thinks has ‘limitless potential’.

Newcastle United struck gold with Bruno and Isak, who are two of the club’s most expensive players for a reason. After all, you get what you pay for.

At the other end of the spectrum, the Magpies spent a fair bit of money last summer on a very inexperienced player with a lot of potential. They spent £6million on Yankuba Minteh, which was a fair wedge of cash considering he had only spent one year in Europe.

But Minteh has impressed ever since signing for Newcastle, with his subsequent loan move to Feyenoord going very well. The 19-year-old is going to be involved in the Magpies’ pre-season preparations, with a loan return to Rotterdam believed to be on the cards.

What has been said about Yankuba Minteh

But there have also been suggestions that Newcastle could cash in on Minteh. The Telegraph stated that earlier this year, and now iNews have suggested it as well.

However, iNews have also spoke to sources in the Netherlands, who are shocked by the thought of Newcastle United selling the Gambia international. In fact, one of iNews’ sources has told them that they think Minteh will become a world class player in the next two years.

That is an incredibly bold claim, but it is a claim that Newcastle must take notice of. They would be crazy to sell Minteh. He has a huge amount of potential and could save the club an absolute fortune in the coming years.

That is the whole point of buying players like Minteh. You get them before they truly develop into stars and nurture them yourself, rather than paying a premium for readymade talents.

They have got a real gem in Minteh, and it would be a shocking decision to let him go.

Newcastle United also have high hopes for Leo Shahar

And he is not the only potential star who Newcastle United have in their ranks.

The club announced this week that Trevan Sanusi and Leo Shahar have signed professional contracts, with both players tipped for bright futures on Tyneside.

That is certainly the case for Shahar, the 17-year-old right-back who looks destined for greatness.

Journalist Chris Waugh has been speaking about how Shahar is viewed by Newcastle on the latest episode of Pod On The Tyne, and it would appear that the teenager will soon rise through the ranks at St James’ Park.

“Leo Shahar is a full back and has performed pretty well for Newcastle’s reserves this season and I think he is someone who they believe can have a big future,” he said.
